How do I get my well tested to determine if my drinking water is safe? Who do I contact if I have a problem with my drinking water?

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) provides information on testing your water as well as advice to private well owners on well water safety.

Water test kits are available from certified commercial laboratories. More information including a list of certified labs is available through the DHHS Drinking Water Program

If you have questions about how to test, what to test for, or if you want to discuss the results of a test contact staff at DHHS at (207) 287-2070.
