MDIFW NEWS: Missing 16-Year-OId Girl Safely Located By Searchers

LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine - Asia Brown, who had been missing since Saturday night, was found safely by searchers a mile from her home this evening.

At approximately 8:00 this evening, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs (MESARD) volunteer Leslie Howe and her K9 Uerly (correct spelling) were searching an area that had been previously searched when they located Asia in a wooded area near a field, just over a mile from her house. It is believed Asia had been moving around in the area, making it difficult for searchers. Howe and K9 Uerly, a Dutch Shepard, are members of Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, a volunteer organization that assists the Maine Warden Service in missing person searches.

Game Wardens quickly reunited Asia with her family, bringing her mom to the area were Asia was located. Asia was examined by emergency medical personnel, and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Asia was last seen Saturday night at approximately8:30 p.m.at her residence on Campground Rd in Livermore Falls.

The Maine Warden Service was assisted by the Livermore Falls Police Department, Maine State Police, Maine Forest Service, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, Maine Association For Search And Rescue, Livermore Falls Fire Department, US Border Patrol, Buckfield Fire Department, and the Androscoggin Sheriff's Office
