MDIFW NEWS: UPDATE - Missing West Bath man
Search teams continue to look for 70-year-old Edward Berrett from 63 Beaver Brook Road, West Bath. Berrett lives alone and therefore was not reported missing until midday Sunday, November 19 when family discovered he was not home and called police. Today?s efforts revealed evidence that have helped investigators establish a timeline in Berrett?s disappearance. Search efforts have been concentrated in the areas of Beaver Brook Road and adjacent Hill Road in West Bath.
Maine game wardens and Sagadahoc County Sheriff?s Office continue to seek information from the public for information that might help locate Berrett. He was last seen on Beaver Brook Road in West Bath on Friday November 17, at 7:00 PM. Barrett is 6?1? tall, weighs 220 pounds (a change from 190 lbs. this morning), has blue eyes and blonde/white hair. He was last known to be wearing khaki colored pants. It is possible that Berrett was not wearing a shirt or jacket according to one report. A Maine Warden Service aircraft, twenty game wardens, four game warden K9 teams, Marine Patrol Officers and watercraft, Sagadahoc County Sheriff?s Office, five Maine Search and Rescue Dog (MESARD) teams, 30 Maine Association of Search and Rescue (MASAR) volunteers, one drone aircraft from York County EMA and members of West Bath Fire and assisted with today?s search efforts. Search efforts will resume tomorrow morning. The command post will remain at the West Bath Fire Department located at 162 State Road (Old Route 1) in West Bath.
