MDIFW NEWS: Maine Warden Service and Multiple Agencies Search For Missing 76-Year-Old Hollis Man

UPDATE: Ralph Hughes was located conscious and alert at approximately 11:20 this morning by a game warden searching the area near his residence. Mr. Hughes is being transported to Maine Medical Center as a precaution.

HOLLIS, Maine - The Maine Warden Service is currently looking for 76-year-old Ralph Hughes of Hollis. Mr. Hughes, who suffers from cognitive issues, was last seen at his residence on Mason Drive in Hollis at approximately 8:00 PM, on Saturday, June 28, 2025. It is believed he left on foot from the residence sometime between 2:30 AM and 9:30 AM on Sunday. Mr. Hughes is a white male, 63", 205 lbs., with white hair and brown eyes. He was last known to be wearing a red shirt, blue plaid fleece pants, and gray shoes.

Several agencies assisted the Maine Warden Service in the search on Sunday, including the Maine State Police, Hollis Fire Department, Westbrook Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriffs Office, Maine Forest Rangers, Waterboro Fire Department, York County Emergency Management Agency, and Maine Search and Rescue Dogs.

Search efforts so far have included 12 K-9 teams, drones, ground searchers, aircraft, and ATVs. Neighbors, family, friends and local residents are asked to stay out of the woods while the search is being conducted. If you live in the area, please check take a look around your property including looking in any outbuildings such as sheds, check vehicles on your property, and any other areas around your house where Mr. Hughes might be.

Search efforts are continuing through Sunday night and will expand on Monday morning in the wooded areas along Cape Road in Hollis.
