Update on Falmouth Spur Rollover

State Police say the ramp from Route 1 in Falmouth and from I-295 is completely shut down to the Falmouth Spur of the Maine Turnpike because of a tractor trailer rollover.

Motorists seeking to use the turnpike should use the Portland exit by the Jetport to avoid the crash site. Motorists along I-295 southbound will be experiencing slowdowns in Falmouth for the afternoon.

Falmouth Spur Closed Due to Truck Rollover

State Police say the ramp from Route 1 in Falmouth to the Falmouth Spur of the Maine Turnpike southbound is currently shut down because of a tractor trailer rollover. The I-295 ramp (Exit 11) to the spur remains open but backups will remain for most of the afternoon. Motorists seeking to use the turnpike should use the Portland exit by the Jetport to avoid the crash site.

There has been a subsequent crash southbound in the area forcing a lane closure near Exit 11. One lane of travel on I-295 southbound near Exit 11 will be in place until further notice.

Culvert Replacement to Begin in Freeport

Freeport ? Crews will be replacing a culvert in Freeport beginning on Monday, August 15th.

The location of this project is approximately one-half mile north of Mallett Drive in Freeport. Starting today, there is a temporary traffic signal that is flashing yellow and will be through the weekend. Beginning on Monday, August 15th, the traffic signal will be fully operational as crews close the northbound lane of Route 1.

Alternating one-way traffic will be in place for the approximate 600ft. of the work zone. Motorists should expect slight delays.

I-295 Overnight Milling Operations to Begin

Portland ? Overnight milling operations will begin on I-295 northbound on Sunday, August 14th.

I-295 northbound milling will be from the Falmouth/Portland town line and extend 21.51 miles to the Androscoggin River Bridge in Brunswick. All work will be performed Sunday through Friday from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and Friday from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The ramps along this stretch will be kept open at all times.

Crews will continue to pave the southbound portion of I-295 in this area. When completed, paving will then begin northbound.

I-95 Overnight Schedule for Ramp Paving

Augusta ? As the paving operations continue on I-95, the updated schedule for ramp closures from Augusta to Waterville northbound and southbound for the upcoming week is as follows:

Sunday, August 14th:

The entire Exit 109 Interchange will be closed for paving operations Sunday, August 14th from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Select ramps may be opened early as work allows. Particular attention is directed to 109 southbound exits: Exit 109A southbound exit will be closed Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Exit 109B southbound off-ramp will remain open.

Monday, August 15th:

Sarah Mildred Long Bridge Closed to Vehicular Traffic

Kittery ? The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge that connects Kittery and Portsmouth, N.H. is currently inoperable. All vehicular traffic is able to use the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge. Local traffic can utilize the Memorial Bridge.

Mechanical issues have the bridge in the ?open? position. Maine and New Hampshire Departments of Transportation engineers may enlist the assistance of moveable bridge experts to help further the evaluation.

The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge is closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.

Marine traffic remains unaffected.
