Primary Care Plus (PCPlus) Year One Final Application Period Now Open

What is PCPlus?

PCPlus is a new MaineCare service model that supports primary care practices to deliver high-quality primary care. The PCPlus rule is currently proposed and under review, and we anticipate that this policy will be adopted with a future effective date of June 21, 2022.

How do I apply to PCPlus?

The PCPlus application is now open for primary care practices that have not yet applied. Practices with more than one location must complete a separate application for each location.

If your practice already applied, MaineCare will contact you to resolve any pending application issues.

When does the PCPlus application for year one close?

This year one final PCPlus application period will close on May 13, 2022. All documents except for the Community Health Worker Environmental Scan and the Joint Care Management and Population Health Strategy must be submitted by May 13.

Where do I find more information about PCPlus?

The proposed rule for PCPlus is available on the Proposed Rule webpage. For additional information about the PCPlus program, visit the Primary Care webpage.

As a reminder, until the PCPlus rule is adopted, MaineCare cannot address policy-related questions but can address questions specific to the PCPlus application. You can send these questions to the Delivery System Reform Unit.
