Help MaineCare Members Avoid a Gap in Health Coverage

As you may know, changes are coming to MaineCare, and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services is hoping that pharmacies can help to spread the word!

We are working to raise awareness about the need for people with MaineCare to renew their coverage or, if they’re no longer eligible, to enroll in coverage through their employer or through CoverME.gov, Maine’s Health Insurance Marketplace.

More information about this process can be found at MaineCare.gov/unwinding.

  • What MaineCare members can do now: Update their contact information (such as address, phone number, and email). They can call 1-855-797-4357, option 1 to update contact information through an automated system or visit MyMaineConnection.gov
  • What MaineCare members can do when it is time to renew: Complete and return their renewal form. MaineCare will send members a renewal form by mail or e-notice. Be on the lookout for the envelope with a blue block with the renewal information and instructions. Members who signed up for e-notices will get a message in their account when it is time for their renewal. When they get their renewal form, members should fill it out and return it right away to avoid a gap in coverage.

How pharmacies can help:

  • Include information from the communications toolkit about MaineCare renewals in emails, social media, or other communications.
  • Print and hang the posters or distribute flyers from the toolkit at all pharmacy locations.

The toolkit is translated into 9 languages, which can be found here.
