Office of Cannabis Policy's Director announces departure
Dear AUCP and MUCP Stakeholder,
I am writing today to inform you that on Friday, October 7, 2022, I will be stepping down as Director of Maine’s Office of Cannabis Policy. While it is a difficult decision, it’s the right one for me and my family.
I wanted to thank everyone for the last four years. I’m incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished together. From the successful launch of our Adult Use Cannabis program in 2020, in the midst of a global health pandemic, to working with stakeholders to understand and improve our Medical Cannabis Program, we have accomplished so much, and I am grateful to all of you for contributing to our shared achievements.
I’ll always remember everything we’ve done to improve our two cannabis programs and the relationships that have developed along the way.
I know great things are still to come for cannabis in Maine. I know that the staff and leadership at the Office of Cannabis Policy will continue to work with our industry partners to responsibly, equitably and sustainably regulate and operate our cannabis programs here in Maine. You will be in capable hands with Vern Malloch serving as interim Director.
My sincere thanks to all of you, especially my team at the Office of Cannabis Policy, for an amazing four years.
