Municipal Resources

The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy is committed to working closely with its partners in municipal government to serve as the best possible regulator for Maine’s cannabis programs.  This includes working directly with town staff, elected officials, and groups like the Maine Municipal Association, councils of governments, and others to provide a network of trusted resources for Maine’s local decisionmakers, as they consider, implement, and maintain regulated cannabis programs.

While OCP cannot give legal advice, we are pleased to provide information, networking, and connections to best practices and policies that work to keep cannabis safe and legal in our state.  Keep an eye on this page for more resources, as they're developed and released!

Here are just a few of the things you can do...

  • Apply for reimbursement for qualifying expenses related to opting-in to Maine's Adult Use Cannabis Program (see button below).
  • Check our Open Data - get in touch and let us know of anything that's missing in your town, send us your community's ordinance, or request more information.
  • Read municipally-related statutes & rules about cannabis, check out OCP's toolkit and resources for cities and towns, and stay in touch!  (See our Municipal Resources menu.)

Thanks for being a partner in Maine's thriving cannabis marketplace!
