Daniel Nelson

I am submitting a tribute in honor of my 4th great-grandfather who fought as a Marine under the command of Captain John Paul Jones on the Sloop of War "Ranger" from August 1777 to November 1, 1778. He is buried in the Old Canaan Cemetery and unfortunately his grave is unmarked at this time.

Daniel Bochantin and Lawrence, Marshall and Ralph Bochantin

I vote in honor of my father, Daniel Bochantin, who served in the US Navy from 1954-1958. I also vote in honor of his brothers, Lawrence (US Army), Marshall (US Marine Corps) and Ralph (US Navy). They were all instilled with the values of duty, honor and country which they passed on to our family. My service in the US Navy was a direct result of their influence on my life. My children are now being taught the same values so the tradition may be continued.

Dana Richard Kelley

In remembrance of Dana R. Kelley who proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He died when the AC-47 he was serving aboard was shot down in Vietnam on January 9, 1967 along with six other crewmen. He left behind three small children. Today they have grown into good citizens who realize the value of freedom.

Cynthia Smyrl Sprinkle

I am very proud to cast my vote now and in the future in honor of the love of my life, Cynthia Sprinkle. Her recent retirement after completion of over 30 years of Naval Service, attaining the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, AVCM(AW), stands in testimony to her dedication, devotion to duty and unyielding patriotism. She is an outstanding example of the many Sailors over the years who have stood the watch over our nation?s freedom. I am so very lucky to have her as not only a wife but a fellow Sailor.

Cynthia Hatt Sturgis

Boot camp Orlando FL KO46, one of the first female rifle companies. She's been to Brunswick ME, Naples, Italy, Rota, Spain, Panama and Jacksonville, FL. I'm 10 and my mom adopted me when I was a baby. She has PTSD and we are still coping with that. I still think she's the greatest mom ever. Thank you!

Cpl Jason Lyons

Marine Corporal Jason "Jake" Lyons, an Active Marine Reservist who is currently serving his second tour in Iraq as a Marine Corps Infantry Man. He is greatly missed by all and his family is extremely proud of his character and service to his country at a time when it is needed. The Present Greatest Generation!
