Even after her time in the military was over as a Women?s Army Core Nurse, she worked as an R.N. at Togus Hospital until she retired and loved the men and women she helped.

I just wanted to say Thank You to my father who served in the Vietnam War and also made the Military his career. I am proud that you are my Dad. It means a lot to me to know that you were trying to make this world safer for me and everybody else who calls this HOME.
Thank you to all Military personnel Past, Present and Future.
Uncle Lew served as a radioman on the USS Makin Island, an escot aircraft carrier in the Pacific that provided cover for the landings at Luzon, Leyte Bay and Okinawa. His ship was under constant attack by the Japanese Navy, but especially by Kamikaze. Uncle Lew always liked flying high and was a tree climber, hang glider and ice boater. Here's to you, unk, and I know you are flying higher than all of us.
My father served in Korea and Vietnam. In Vietnam he earned 2 Silver Stars, 3 Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. There was an articled that ran in the local paper honoring my father in August 1966 for his heroic acts. He passed away in 1983 when I was 7 years old.
I did not know my husband at the time of his service, but I do know he sacrificed much to serve his country during Operation Desert Storm. He experienced many things that he does not want to remember. When certain things trigger those memories, he is quiet. I cannot imagine the fear and uncertainty he realized fulfilling his patriotic duty. He is a hero. He's my hero. He's an American Hero.
To you whom have come before from us that have followed thereafter, we stand in salute of your service so that we may serve today. Thank you.
It is people like my dad that rose up to serve his country in the military and risk his life. People like that make this country great. Thank You Dad, your service will never be forgotten.
Thank You Dad for your service to our great country!!!
Randy spent some time in Saigon. Randy was with the "BIG RED ONE". I was a hometown MP, we were friends, buddies and always will be. No matter where you are Randy, our time in Saigon will always be remembered.
