Our Archival collection primaraly focuses on the history of North Haven Island including its early history as a part of the Fox Islands which included both North Haven and Vinalhaven. As an island that was both a farming and fishing location, our museum (The North Island Museum) includes both a boat shed, a farm implements building and a recreation of some of the elements of life on the island at about the 1890'. This includes a "post office", a general store, and several rooms of a typical farmhouse including a kitchen, a parlour and a bedroom. The museum also includes a small gift shop, "Cynthia's Emporium". Each summer both the Archives and the Museum create special exhibitions. In the past those have included a Civil War exhibition, a focus on the Lindbergh flight over the arctic area and a focus on childhood on North Haven.
