To realize the maximum benefits of the 9-1-1 system, communities must do the following:

  1. Assign an Addressing Officer to act as the community's official information source and to care for maintenance issues.
  2. Provide emergency service provider information to the Bureau and report any changes.
  3. Maintain emergency road network by reporting changes and additions.
