Maine Transmission Infrastructure Study

The Maine Governor's Energy Office (GEO) is conducting a transmission study and convening the named stakeholder group pursuant to Resolves 2025, Ch. 57 Resolution "Directing the Governor's Energy Office to Conduct a Study Regarding the Future of Electric Transmission Infrastructure in the State".  

The first stakeholder group meeting for this study was held on July 29, 2025 from 9-10:30am. The meeting included a description of the study scope, anticipated timeline for completion, and comments from the stakeholder group. GEO will hold additional stakeholder group meetings throughout the course of the study to continue to solicit information and comments. The anticipated completion date for the study is Fall 2026.   

Gathering input from a variety of stakeholders is an important component of the study. The stakeholder group convened includes a range of key perspectives.
