Parking Enforcement

Capitol Police is responsible for enforcing the promulgated parking rules as provided by MRSA T 25 sub-section 2906.  Time limited, disability, Legislative and other reserved parking is monitored throughout the day to ensure that those who have designated parking can indeed park where they should.

One and two-hour parking spaces are intended for visitors to the Cross Building and State House. Both handicap placards and Legislative plates or permits must be displayed in or on all vehicles in those respective reserved parking spaces. Simply having the placard or permit but not displaying it will result in getting a ticket.

Parking on the grass or otherwise outside designated spaces is prohibited and will result in a vehicle being ticketed and possibly towed.

If you have a question about parking regulations, please give us a call at 207-287-HELP (4357).
