Prevent HIV

There is no vaccine or cure for HIV, but you can take steps to reduce their risk of getting the virus or spreading it to others:

Practice safer sex by using condoms consistently and correctly.
Do not share needles or injection equipment. Find out more about needle exchanges.
If you are at high risk for HIV, your doctor may prescribe a daily medicine to keep you from getting the virus. Find out more about PrEP.
