Track and Trace

The Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) utilizes Metrc LLC to provide track and trace services for the State of Maine's adult use and medical cannabis programs. The service is currently in use in the adult use program, with a forthcoming rollout expected to commence in the medical program starting in 2021.

Universal Symbol

The Cannabis Legalization Act requires the use of a "universal symbol" for adult use cannabis. It is used in Maine by adult use cannabis licensees and the public to identify packages and products containing cannabis.

To deploy Maine’s universal symbol, OCP chose to partner with the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission to unveil the first-ever shared universal symbol for cannabis and cannabis products. Learn more at: https://www.maine.gov/dafs/ocp/resources/universal-symbol/.
