ILEAD USA Maine Mentor Frequently Asked Questions

Would you be interested in facilitating a new initiative to encourage Illinois librarians to meet Twenty-first Century community needs with interactive, participatory tools?  Do you want to be involved in a project that would exercise your leadership and project management skills?

  • Understand that if a team member must miss a meeting or withdraw his/her participation in the project due to unforeseen circumstances, then my team will work with the Illinois State Library, the State Steering Committee, and mentors to make the appropriate arrangements.
  • Confirm that if my program team purchases equipment, the program team will decide which library owns the equipment to serve its users.
  • Confirm that I am required to conduct at least one presentation to a group of library staff members about my experience and my program team’s product, with the goal of mentoring others to use participatory technology tools to craft library services and connect with end users. The presentation must occur before the beginning of in-person session 3.
  • Agree to participate in ILEAD without compensation. Travel and room and board expenses will be paid by the project.
