Technology: Mobile Device Tutor

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly times for “drop-in” technology questions and troubleshooting
  • Offer one-on-one appointments for specific questions and patrons needing special assistance with devices
  • Create easy-to-follow documentation for basic use of common devices
  • Assist staff with development of basic mobile device operation and troubleshooting

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required

  • Ability to work congenially and patiently with staff, patrons and other volunteers
  • Knowledge of mobile devices (including e-readers, tablets and smartphones)
  • Knowledge of common apps in major ecosystems (Apple, Android)
  • Ability to use OpenOffice and/or Microsoft Office to generate documentation or instructions
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies and procedures
  • Good communication skills
