Shelver (Medium to Large Library)
Time Commitment
2-4 hours, weekly, minimum 6 month commitment
Purpose
Volunteer shelvers sort, arrange, and shelve all formats of library materials.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Sorts, arranges and shelves all formats of library materials
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Must be dependable
- Ability to accurately file both alphabetically and numerically
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to push a loaded book cart weighing up to 100 pounds for distances on carpeted surfaces
- Ability to reach, bend, stretch, stoop and lift from standing, sitting and kneeling positions
- Ability to life and carry up tp 10 pounds, such as an armload of books
- Ability to adapt to routine, repetitive activities
