My Husband, A. Robert Orsini, served in the Korean Conflict. Having come from Italian Immigrants he was especially proud of his country and flag. He served with pride - hoping his childen and grandchildren would continue to live in freedom.
"Bud" Ellis served as a P-38 Reconnaissance pilot with the 12th Photo Squad, 3rd Reconnaissance Group, 12th Air Force. Killed over Corsica on November 12, 1943, his plane exploded after he returned from a mission over the Ploesti oil fields. He is buried in the Rome-Sicily American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy.

Lt. Hazel entered the US Army in 1930. He served in the military until 1944, at which time he was reported as missing in action in Ling-Ling, China where he was assigned as an adviser to help train the chinese nationist soldiers. In 1945 he was officially declared deceased. Thanks Dad for your sacrifice. "and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
Most will never be able to understand why you would work so hard to "volunteer" to go to Iraq. Those of us that "get it", will never be able to fully express our gratitude.
Two tours in Iraq with the 101st Airborne, this Army Ranger and his recon teams won numerous awards including the "Bronze Star" for their valor and accomplished objective in removing Al-Queida from their province...we're so proud!! Mom and Dad
Thanks for joining and being one of the greatest generation and inspiring me to serve.
