The Maine Constitution Poster and Essay Contest through the Secretary of State’s office is now accepting entries. Entries are due March 7, 2025.
The Maine Poster and Essay Contests are designed to promote the history of Maine, the Maine Constitution, and the importance of democracy and voting. This program is open to Maine students at all grade levels. In 2024 we received 162 entries from students all over Maine.
The Department of the Secretary of State is committed to providing easily accessible information and services to the people of Maine and beyond.

Welcome to the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP). The ACP is administered by the Secretary of State and provides an important service to residents of the State of Maine who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
The Bureau of the Special Advocate exists to assist Maine small businesses. Maine's Small Business Advocate serves as an independent voice for Maine small businesses within our state. The Advocate assists small businesses of less than 50 employees that have specific grievances.
