Bellows confirms No Labels Party as newly Qualified Party in Maine

AUGUSTA — Secretary of State Shenna Bellows has confirmed the No Labels Party as a Qualified Party in Maine.

The party submitted the State of Maine Certification of Enrollment Requirement to Form a New Party by Party Enrollment form on Dec. 13, 2023. This triggered a review of the number of party enrollees to ensure that No Labels had at least the required 5,000 voters enrolled in the Party to qualify the party to participate in the Primary Election to be held June 11, 2024.

As of January 2, 2024, there were 9,423 Maine voters enrolled in the No Labels Party.

Challenge to Kennedy petitions withdrawn

AUGUSTA — The challenge to the petitions filed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to nominate slates of candidates for the office of presidential elector has been withdrawn by the challenger.

The challenge from James Stretch of Topsham had been received by the Secretary of State on August 8.

Secretary of State Shenna Bellows accordingly dismissed the matter, and the hearing schedule for August 14 at 9 a.m. is cancelled.

Secretary of State informing voters of new party enrollment of which they may not be aware

AUGUSTA — Secretary of State Shenna Bellows announced Friday that the Department of the Secretary of State’s Bureau of Corporations, Elections and Commissions is reaching out to Maine voters who may be unaware that they have enrolled in the No Labels Party, which is seeking party status in Maine.

Election Hero Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday that celebrates the contributions of election officials, their staffs, and poll workers who administer our elections all across the country.
