Dicky fought the Vietnam War his whole life. He was a kind and loving man that had a difficulty forgiving himself for the many lives he took during the conflict.

My big brother Richard was my best friend. We shared the same birthdate July 6 although there was eleven years difference in age we grew very close as the only siblings. He joined the U.S Navy with his best friend Sonny Moholland after high school. His entire life was the U.S, Navy and his family one daughter and two sons. He served both on shore and at sea during the Vietnam conflict and returned home. He finished his career as an instructor at the War College in Newport, RI. Retired home in Washington County before he died of complications resulting from a stroke.

Richard "Porky" Martin received his Purple Heart and Medal of Honor in an envelope sent to his house. He's the gentleman that was on Channel 6 News for finding a war buddy after 63 years. I think we could do a little better then getting Oh by the way we forgot here's your medals in a envelope.

He has worked very hard to get to where he is today. Please support all our troops; you really do not know how much they need our support, especially when they return home.
