An application for a Maine certificate of title can be obtained by contacting the Title Unit in Augusta or by visiting any of our motor vehicle branch office locations.
These times reflect receipt of an accurately completed application by the Title Division and exclude mailing time.
Petroleum, waste oil and solid waste carriers must contact the Department of Environmental Protection at 207-287-7688 for information about the required licenses. Federal Hazardous Materials Regulations may also apply to motor vehicles of any size which transport certain hazardous materials, waste, or substances, including bulk cryogenic liquids. The purpose of this program is to authorize the operation of two vehicle configurations at certain Canadian weight limits between the Canadian border at Calais to the Domtar Mill in Baileyville; from the Canadian border at Madawaska to the Fraser Paper facility; and from the Canadian border at Van Buren to the rail yard in Van Buren.
