What is America's Potluck?

America's Potluck is an opportunity for neighbors to join with one another to share a fun, communal meal, creating a sense of connection and belonging and fostering interactions among people from all walks of life.

America250 Utah is leading America's Potluck efforts alongside all 50 states and Puerto Rico, national partners, and with a growing number of cities across the country.

Potlucks Across America

States, cities, and neighborhoods are planning potlucks across the country to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country. From a chat over coffee to organizational-led gatherings, and from tables on Main Street to neighborhood block parties, there is no wrong way to gather for America's Potluck.

How can you get involved?

Join the movement to build connections within your community by spreading the word and planning to host a potluck on July 5, 2026. Better yet, walk across the street (or the hall) to find a neighbor to co-host the potluck with you! Or, we have partnered with Community Plate, Viles Arboretum and the Maine Office of Tourism to host our own potluck! More info on that event below.

Together with Community Plate and America's Potluck, the Maine Semiquincentennial Commission invites you to join us at Viles Arboretum in Augusta to commemorate America's 250th Anniversary with a special afternoon of connection through the sharing of food, stories, and recipes.

We'll be joining Americans in all 50 states on July 5th to celebrate our country's 250th anniversary by coming together and sitting down with our neighbors and visitors to share food and conversation. At this potluck in our state's capital, we'll share stories about what it means to be a Mainer at this time in our nation's history, sharing the food that connects us to one another and this place we now call Maine.
