The Winslow Public Library has an opening for a Youth Services and Programming Librarian. This is a full-time, hourly, 40-hr a week position responsible for the development and implementation of a full range of library services for children and young adults and for providing programming support to patrons of all ages.
Responsibilities include youth collection development, programming for all ages and, outreach services for, provision of reference services and computer use guidance for young patrons, and supervision of staff and volunteer assistants for adult and youth programs.
The Youth Services and Programming Librarian works under the general guidance and supervision of the Library Director. Experience working in a library setting, a Bachelor's degree, and experience with children, including demonstrated knowledge of current children's and young adult education, literature and programming are a priority. Proficiency with technology, and an MLS or MLIS or current enrollment in an MLS program or a combination of comparable education and experience which demonstrates the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is desirable, but not required.
Salary will be determined by level of experience and education, ranging from $16-$18 an hour. A generous benefits package includes 12 paid holidays a year, paid vacation, sick time: medical (100% of employee's premium currently covered), dental and life insurance.
The Town of Winslow participates in the International City Managers Association - Retirement Corporation (ICMA-RC) and will match the employee's contribution up to 9% of the annual wages excluding overtime. In addition to the ICMA-RC, Winslow participates jointly with employees in Social Security payments.
