Maine State Library Move: Temporary Service Disruption

In-person visits/appointments, reference services and curbside lending will temporarily pause starting March 27.

“Hope springs eternal”—and this spring marks an exciting milestone for the Maine State Library as we enter the final phase of our move back to the Cultural Building at 230 State Street in Augusta.

This is a significant transition for our staff, collections, and operations. Completing the move carefully and thoughtfully requires a full, coordinated effort across the organization.

To support that work, all in-person visits and appointments, reference services, and curbside lending will be temporarily paused beginning Friday, March 27.

Services will resume once the move is complete and operations are safely reestablished. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
