Job Description
The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Library seeks a part-time adjunct Agriculture and Life Sciences Librarian to cover a leave for the spring semester of 2023. This position provides subject-specific information literacy instruction primarily to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) community through both in-person and online formats and for other colleges as needed; may participate in other relevant research support and instruction activities including provision of individual research consultations and participation in chat reference service during assigned shifts; may participate in special projects.
The position is a semester-long adjunct faculty position reporting to the Dean of the University Library through the Library Faculty Chair. This is a 50% time position (20 hours/week) with a pay rate of $25/hr.
Responsibilities:
Provide subject-specific information literacy instruction primarily to the COLSA community through both in-person and online formats
Provide research support for the COLSA community including providing individual research consultations
Participate in chat reference service during assigned shifts
Contribute to special projects including development of online learning objects and collection evaluation initiatives
Demonstrate commitment to developing multicultural competence and contribute to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Required Qualifications
ALA-accredited Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS) or international equivalent
Knowledge of reference resources and online databases
Ability to effectively engage students in the classroom
Understanding of the delivery of library services
Ability to work both independently and with others
Demonstrated multicultural competence and contribution to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
Academic background in Life Sciences and/or Agriculture
Teaching experience or academic background in education
Ability to operate with a high level of initiative
Salary Information
