Proposed Rules for Office of State Fire Marshal:

Chapter 5, Portable Fire Extinguishers will be modified to adopt the 2018 edition of NFPA #10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers. Chapters 7, 8, 9, 11, and 13 will be repealed because the adoption of the 2018 version of NFPA # 1 in Chapter 3 has incorporated the subject matter of these chapters. Comment deadline is June 22, 2020.

The Department has provisionally adopted this rule, which is a major substantive rule. The Legislative Council must allow this rule to be considered, and approved, by the Legislature in order for it to be finally adopted. Updates will be provided on this page if the rule is finally adopted.
