Highway Preservation Work in Northern Aroostook County

Augusta ? Crews will be performing crack sealing operations on specific roads throughout northern Aroostook County beginning on Monday, June 16th.

Temporary travel lane closures are anticipated during daylight hours Monday through Saturday. Traffic will be maintained during working hours by way of alternating one-way travel through the work zones. Work zones will be delineated as necessary with cones and other traffic control devices and maintained by flaggers.

Inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge in Brunswick-Topsham

Brunswick ? Crews will be back to complete the routine inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge in Brunswick on June 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This inspection will require northbound traffic over the bridge to be detoured via the Topsham connector and Route 1.

All southbound traffic will flow as normal with no detours.

Northbound motorists may experience slight delays during this inspection.

Vehicle Restrictions on the Fort Kent International Bridge

Fort Kent ? Due to ongoing construction, the Fort Kent International Bridge will be limiting passage of oversized vehicles. Contractor activities in May, June and July involve booth and canopy construction which severely limits the maneuverability of oversized vehicles attempting to cross. Large trucks are encouraged to use alternate routes including the border crossing at Madawaska.

June 16th through July 13th: Vehicles measuring 9ft wide by 12 ft. high and 22 ft. long will not be allowed on the bridge. This is both inbound and outbound traffic.

Interstate 95 Overnight Paving Between Hampden and Bangor

Hampden ? Beginning June 15th, crews will be milling and paving Interstate 95 northbound and southbound between Hampden and Bangor.

On I-95 southbound the work begins 0.11 miles north of Hogan Road and extends southerly for 5.24 miles to just south of Exit 182A to Interstate 395. The northbound work is begins 1.74 miles north of the Newburgh/Hampden town line and extends northerly for 11.04 miles to Hogan Road.

Paving to Begin at Three Locations in Scarborough

Scarborough ? Paving will take place at three locations in Scarborough beginning Wednesday, June 18th.

On June 18th, crews will pave Haigis Parkway beginning 0.31 miles from Route 1 and extend 1.11 miles to the intersection of Payne Road. There will be alternating one-way traffic through the work zone. There will be no work done near the Payne Road intersection from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is anticipated all work will be completed by June 27th.

Deep Culvert Replacement in Harpswell

Harpswell ? Crews will be replacing a deep culvert that has partially collapsed a road on Orr?s Island. Mobilization of equipment begins tomorrow (Thursday, June 19th)

This three-foot culvert, installed in 1938, is located approximately two miles from Mountain Road on Orr?s Island. Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals. Motorists should allow extra time and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

It is anticipated work on this culvert replacement project will take two to three weeks to complete.

Emergency Drainage Repairs in Farmingdale

Farmingdale ? Crews will be performing emergency repairs to an underground drainage structure that has partially washed out a section of road at the junction of Northern Avenue and Route 201, just north of the Gardiner town line.

Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, June 19th). Two lanes of traffic will be maintained throughout the day. Starting at 8:00 p.m. crews will initiate one lane of alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals.
