Local History/Genealogy Aide
Time Commitment
4 hours weekly, 6 month commitment
Purpose
To assist the library with various ongoing genealogy and local history indexing and preservation projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Extracts obituaries from the local newspaper
- Extracts birth announcement from the local paper
- Photocopies newspaper articles for the local history file
- Prepares materials for digitization using scanning equipment
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to stoop, bend and reach overhead
- Experience with general office equipment
- Computer experience desirable
- Ability to work harmoniously with other library employees and with patrons
- Ability to lift and/or move materials as necessary
- Ability to receive instruction from library staff, and the cooperation to abide by library policies and regulations
