Time Commitment

2 hours, weekly, 2 week trial period

Purpose

The Teen Tech provides desktop support assisting patrons on public access computers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists patrons on public access computers
  • Helps setup email account
  • Demonstrates how to access the library's electronic databases (MARVEL!)
  • Assists customers with document printing tasks
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic software application issues (MS Office and Open Office applications)
  • Refers patron to appropriate staff when requests are beyond Teen Tech expertise or access

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required

  • Sophomore, junior or senior in high school
  • Familiarity with PCs and MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work and communicate with people from all age groups and backgrounds
  • Professional appearance and attitude
