Library Material Sleuth

Time Commitment

2 hours, weekly

Purpose

The Library Material Sleuth provides library members with easy access to library materials and makes the library a great place to visit. Dedicated, detail oriented people are needed to locate materials, shelve books, arrange books in order on the shelves, plus help with a wide variety of library tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Find the library materials patrons need
  • Shelve library material
  • Straighten, shift and arrange items in order on the shelves, re-stock materials
  • Set up book displays and keep restocked

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

  • Minimum age 14
  • Ability to alphabetize and put items in numerical order
  • Physical ability to push, bend, stretch, reach, lift, and read book spines
  • Self starter (after training)
