Time Commitment
2-4 hours, weekly, 6 month commitment
Purpose
Responsible for accurately shelving library materials in a variety of formats and subject areas, plus performing general support work for the library staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Stamps daily date due cards for all circulating materials
- Puts carts in order
- Shelves materials
- Edges and dusts shelves
- Keep assigned genre areas in shelf order
- Sets up meeting room and other duties as assigned
- May do photocopying or computer assignments
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Ability to convey a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Must follow directions well
- Ability to concentrate and pay attention to details
- Ability to push book carts that weigh 100 plus pounds
- Bending required
- Shelving knowledge (Dewey) is a plus
- Once trained, must be able to work independently
