Clerk
Time Commitment
2-4 hours, weekly, 3 month commitment
Purpose
To assist the library staff with the clerical functions of the library.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Works with book orders
- Alphabetizes and files
- Types documents for director and staff
- Types spine labels, replaces worn labels
- Adds records to the library catalog (will train)
- Assists in processing withdrawn material
- Photocopies, types, files and does other clerical tasks as needed
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Speak English well
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to sort and organize materials in alphabetical
and/or Dewey decimal order (will train) - Has good communication, listening, and organizational Skills
- Types and/or has good computer skills
- Ability to work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteer
- General familiarity with libraries a plus
- Ability to read a minimum print size equal to elite type
- Knowledge of library automation a plus
- Familiarity with office equipment
