Coordinator of Teen Community Service Volunteers
Time Commitment
2-4 hours, weekly, minimum 6 month commitment
Purpose
Develop and coordinate community service opportunities, engaging young members of the community and investing them in their community and library.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Instruct and motivate teen community service volunteers
- Develop service opportunities in cooperation with the library staff
- Implement service program utilizing community service volunteers
- Interface with community contacts to retain/recruit volunteers
- Educate community contacts regarding program focus and intent
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Experience working with a variety of groups, ages, and backgrounds
- Supervisory experience dealing with individuals, small and large groups
- Experience in setting short and long-term goals
- Self-motivated a must; able to work independently
- Skill set includes ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to speak and understand English and to convey a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to work patiently with people from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent oral communication and written skills
