Technology Team Coordinator

Time Commitment

5-10 hours, monthly, 6 month minimum commitment

Purpose

This position will be responsible for recruiting and selecting qualified volunteers, scheduling, and other supervisory responsibilities, as necessary to ensure the ongoing success of this library service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assembles a committed volunteer team that provides both mid-week and Saturday technology training and assistance
  • Coordinates volunteer opportunities, disseminates information, and schedules volunteers, ensuring consistent availability to serve the community
  • Increases the community's involvement in library services, programs, and use of resources

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required

  • High degree of initiative and creativity
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to create a plan and strategies for volunteer recruitment and retention
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills
  • Work cooperatively and with enthusiasm to support collaboration, inspire volunteer involvement and reduce attrition
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, Internet and e-mail
  • Ability to set goals, and be accountable for completing each assigned task
  • Effective delegating tasks and assignments to volunteer groups and individual volunteers
  • Ability to speak and understand English and to convey a positive, friendly attitude
  • Ability to work congenially with staff, patrons and other volunteers
  • Ability to prioritize shifting work
  • Prior managerial experience a plus
  • Experience training others
