Booklist Developer

Time Commitment

2-3 hours, weekly, 6 month commitment

Purpose

To write short descriptions of book titles based on information garnered from book jackets and/or book reviews. These annotations will be used to create booklists for library patrons.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read book jackets and other review sources
  • Write and type short annotations
  • Design in conjunction with library staff specific booklists (example: Cozy Mysteries to Die For)

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required

  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to use a word processing program such as Microsoft Office or Open Office, to type annotations
  • Ability to use online reviewing tools such as NoveList (Training will be provided)
  • Editing skills are a plus
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently
