Homework Helper

Time Commitment

2 hours, weekly, during the school year

To assist elementary and middle school students with their homework assignments.

Help students understand and organize their homework assignments
Guide students in completing assignments
Along with staff, assists the student in learning how to use the library
Encourage and support the efforts of students to complete homework in a timely and accurate fashion

Experience with children and young adults
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to provide dependable transportation, so as to be punctual, and the ability to be contacted by telephone scheduling changes and meetings
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies and procedures
Ability to receive instruction from library staff
Maintains confidentiality in dealing with patron infor-
mation
Excellent oral communication and written skills
