Homebound/Community Outreach Services Assistant
Time Commitment
2-4 hours, monthly
Purpose
Delivery driver providing delivery service of library materials to our homebound patrons.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Picks up totes from the library
- Delivers materials to homebound patrons
- Monitors patron satisfaction using pre-set list of questions
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required
- Ability to speak and understand English and to convey a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
- Ability to provide dependable transportation, so as to be punctual, and the ability to be contacted by telephone scheduling changes and meetings
- Ability to receive instruction from library staff and the cooperation to abide by library policies and regulations
- Ability to lift and carry tote bags full of books weighing approximately 20 lbs. a piece.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Maintains confidentiality in dealing with patron information
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, library employees, volunteers, and the elderly and disabled while maintaining tact, patience, courtesy and confidentiality
