Appleton Historical Society
Primary artifact is the Greek Revival Union Meetinghouse, constructed in 1848, and for which we are in the process of applying to the National Register of Historic Places. Other items include a variety of small household and farm artifacts; a collection of antique schoolbooks and other period books; work of local artist Uriah Dyer; and the original postal window from the Appleton Village Post Office as well as the certificates of appointment of postmasters. We have a collection of the historical and genealogical works of local historian Dr.
