Son of an Irish Immigrant, Francis W. Lyons, (Deceased: 02/2005), served the duration of the war during WWII as a Gunnersmate U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He attained the rank of Acting Chief Petty Officer and saw action during the Island Hopping Campaign, along with service in the North Atlantic on Mine Sweeper and L/C Ship. Thanks Dad. R.I.P.
