Online Absentee Ballot Request
Use this online service to request your absentee ballot electronically. The ballot will be sent to you via postal mail and must be returned to your municipal clerk by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

New icon image Beginning February 1, 2024, voters who will be at least 65 years of age by the next election or who self-identify as having a disability may apply for ongoing absentee voter status: PDF | Word. A voter who qualifies will automatically receive an absentee ballot for each statewide election, municipal election and any other election for which the voter is eligible to vote and need not submit a request for each election. Voters must return completed form to their municipal clerk.

Accessible absentee ballots are available to voters with disabilities.

Uniformed Service & Overseas Voters (UOCAVA) - For information specific to:

  • Uniformed Service Voter:
    • Active duty military and their dependents (U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps)
    • Coast Guard
    • Commissioned corps of the U.S. public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
    • The Merchant Marine
  • Overseas Voter:
    • U.S. citizen living outside of the United States who was qualified or would be qualified to vote in their place of residence in Maine prior to leaving the U.S.
