This webinar is intended to provide information about the Maine Community Energy Redevelopment Program (MECERP) is designed to foster economic development across Maine by providing high-quality technical assistance to projects that unlock community assets for economic development. Successful projects supported through MECERP will bring together partners in the community to collaborate on implementation, help realize Maine’s economic development goals, have a high likelihood of qualifying for state and federal funding, and leverage underutilized or legacy electricity infrastructure.

Maine's Renewable Portfolio Standard Study: Public Meeting 1

As directed by statute, the Governor's Energy Office, in consultation with the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is required to submit a report to the Maine Legislature on the status and impacts of Maine’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS). Maine's renewable portfolio standard (RPS) establishes the portion of electricity sold in the state that must be supplied by renewable energy resources.

Maine Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates Draft Proposal

Meeting schedule/agenda:

The Governor's Energy Office, Efficiency Maine, and MaineHousing will host a public meeting on Maines draft plan for deploying Inflation Reduction Act funding for rebates to encourage home energy efficiency and electrification projects. This plan will form the basis of an application to the U.S. Department of Energy for approximately $71.7 million in funding for the State to implement home energy rebate programs. Interested parties will have the opportunity to comment on a draft proposal, which will be made available in advance of the meeting and described further in that discussion.

State-Based Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grants Program Webinar

Meeting schedule/agenda:

State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grants provide funding for states to develop and implement clean energy workforce development programs. This winter, GEO will prepare and submit an application that aims to reduce the cost of training contractor employees, provide testing and certification of contractors, and partner with nonprofits to attract and train a diverse set of local workers. On January 10th, GEO will host a webinar to present information regarding the State's application for the program and solicit feedback from stakeholders.
