The Maine State Library is located in the Cultural building in the State House Complex.

Directions
From the South
- From I-95, take Exit 109 (first Augusta exit).
- Bear right toward downtown Augusta, merging onto US Route 202-East (Western Avenue).
- At the 4th traffic signal (about ½ mile) turn right onto Armory Street (following dark blue and white sign for "State Offices West").
- At the next traffic signal, turn right onto Sewall Street.
- Turn left into the large parking lot, following sign for "State Museum, Library, Archives".
- The State Library is in the flat-roofed building to your right.
From the North
- From I-95, take Exit 109A (the third Augusta interchange).
- Follow steps 2-6 of "From the South".
From the West
- Follow US Route 202-East to Augusta (becomes Western Avenue).
- After the I-95 interchange, follow steps 3-6 of "From the South".
From the East
From Route 3
- Follow Route 3 to I-95 and the I-95 ramp to Augusta-Portland.
- Take I-95 South to Exit 109A.
- Follow steps 2-6 of "From the South".
From Route 17
- Follow Route 17 to Route 201 South at the East Side Traffic Circle in Augusta.
- Go three-quarters of the way around the circle, following Route 201 South.
- At the next traffic circle, go three-quarters of the way around, still following Route 201.
- At the second traffic light, turn right into the parking lot.
- The library is the flat-roofed building on your left at the top of the rise.
