The Soldiers Memorial Library is a one story, eclectic style building designed by the Boston architects Robert H. Wambolt and Amos A. Lawrence in 1914. Located in the Southern Oxford County town of Hiram, it was built with funds donated largely by Virginia Barker Jordan as well as local residents. The building is owned by the Town of Hiram and administered by a Board of Trustees. Within the town, the bungalow-type building is a landmark among the vernacular wood frame homes and commercial structures that line the streets. The Solider?s Memorial Library was listed in the National Register at the local level of significance for its architectural merit and in recognition of its educational and cultural function within the town of Hiram.
