The Parker House located southwest of Blue Hill proper, is a two-story, hipped roof, Federal-style structure. The symmetrical dwelling is clad in narrow clapboard siding and with a central door set under a slim entablature and framed by narrow pilasters and sidelights. The house sits on a granite foundation and has windows composed of numerous panes of glass. At the turn of the twentieth century, the house was remodeled by Blue Hill native, architect George Clough. He added several Colonial Revival-style features, most noticeably three entry porches set on low concrete decks with hipped roofs, molded cornices, and wide friezes supported by Tuscan columns. The house was originally built by Esquire Robert Parker for his family. The period details reflect the economic success of Parker, one of the first European-Americans to settle Blue Hill during the late eighteenth century. It remained in the Parker family until the 1880s.
