The State of Maine is pursuing the development of a floating offshore wind research array in the Gulf of Maine through the Governor's Energy Office (GEO) and in collaboration with the Department of Marine Resources (DMR). This planning meeting is the next step in the States process to give fishermen and other stakeholders direct influence in the development of the proposed project. The planning meeting will set the direction for the work ahead in the coming months and launch two working groups - one focused on fisheries issues and one focused on wildlife issues.
