Background: Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
In November 2021, Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also called the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The legislation is a significant investment that is directing billions of dollars to energy infrastructure that will be available to states. The GEO is proactively planning for upcoming BIL grant opportunities to support the state of Maine’s climate, clean energy, and economic goals.
